Breakaway Commission

Breakaway commission plans are some of the oldest and most proven plans in our industry. Companies like Amway have been in the MLM referral marketing industry forever and have popularized this style of plan through the 70s and 80s. Even some new companies employ it today.

The breakaway brings an additional set of overrides to the traditional uni-level with parent ranks coding to an affiliate for life. Once the person below you reaches the rank you were at the time you sponsored them, their new volume then “breaks away” from your team, thus the name.

The question of using this style of plan today for your company all comes down to the type of culture you are looking to create for your teams.
